Out of the Kitchen 10/10/13

Today I am going to bring a new segment to my blog called, "Out of the Kitchen."  Out of the kitchen posts will be a mish-mash of ideas, new and favorite products, and a chance to sort of look inside my life and what is important to me.  I personally, don't think my life is all that exciting, so you might just choose to look away at this point..lol

First up...
MKA turned three this past week!!  (and I totally missed that it happened!)

On October 6, 2010, I decided to start a blog to save some "keeper" recipes for myself and document the nutrition information so I didn't have to recalculate every time I made the recipe again. At the time, I was thick into Weight Watchers.  Who knew one day it would sprout into what it has become today?  And although it's a lot more work to figure out the nutritional information to calculate out the PP, I still enjoy it very much! I was excited earlier this year when I joined Allrecipes as an Allstar so that I could bring some of that experience to this blog as well.

Stay tuned, because I am working on putting together some sort of giveaway to celebrate!!  Thank you all so much for reading, commenting, making the recipes I post, and just being a "friend"!

I am excited for the return of Walking Dead this weekend!  I've had a bit of withdrawal on Sunday evenings since the Breaking Bad series ended two weeks ago, and I am looking forward to the next season of this show.  I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed in Season Three, so I hope Season Four kicks it up a notch. Let's just say, I wasn't a big fan of the Governor story line.  I'd like to see him gone forever...as in zombie lunch and then bullet through the head kind of gone.

Here I am holding my copy of my friend Nicole from Preventionrd's new cookbook, "Prevention RD's Everyday Healthy Cooking", in my local Barnes and Noble Store.  I snatched up myself a copy because in it, Nicole gave me credit for two soups she adapted from my very own recipes (my Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup and my The Best Vegetable Soup.) Yup!  Very cool.  The cookbook itself is just gorgeous and full of beautiful photos taken by Nicole herself.  If you find a copy, pick it up and look for my shout out on the sidebars of both those recipes in the book, then put it in your shopping bag, because this is a cookbook worth having.

So that's all I've got for Out of the Kitchen this week!  Anything great going on with all of you recently?  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

    1. thanks Valerie. It feels like years since I last watched the Walking Dead. I need to watch at least the last episode of season 3 before I am ready. I am sure AMC will be doing a huge marathon this weekend, so it should be easy.
