Last month, a representative of www.thewinebar.com contacted me about sampling some of their wonderful wines. (Disclaimer:  A representative for www.thewinebar.com sent me samples for free to review.  All commentary and opinions expressed in this blog post are mine and I was not compensated for them.) I'm not a huge wine drinker, but over the years, I've come to really enjoy certain wine pairings.  I used to shop for wines by "names".  The more strange the name, the more I wanted to try it...lol. (Pathetic, I know!)

Now, I look for a certain type of wine.  I've found I enjoy the crisp clean taste of white wines much better than the bold flavors of most reds.  And of the whites, I know I like rieslings, moscotos, zins and pinots the best.  I haven't gotten around to choosing by year or area yet, but I have come a long way!

The Wine Bar is a hub that features a large portfolio of wine brands and varieties. If you are like me, and not sure how to choose the right wine, The Wine Bar makes it so easy!  From bubbly prosecco perfect for brunch to citrus-y sauvignon blancs perfect to pair with light summer dishes.   When you visit their website you will notice they carry a wide variety of wines to suite just about anyone's taste.  They are also very reasonably priced.  Most wines sell between $9 and $12 a bottle. They also have a Wine+Dine section, where they actually give you recipes that pair with their wines and other wine pairing ideas!  That makes choosing the right wine for the occasion super simple! And my personal favorite...wine cocktail recipes featuring their wines!!  Wow.

I have to tell you, the more I looked around this website, the more impressed I became with what it has to offer.  Even a novice wine drinker like myself will be able to find just the right wine for the occasion and so MANY, MANY ideas on how and what to serve it with.

Now you probably want to know how they taste!  Each mini bottle I have sampled has been amazing.  From pinot to moscoto they go perfect with whatever summer meal you are serving.  I was very impressed with the packaging my wine samples arrived in as well.  They arrived in a sturdy black box with my precious cargo safely snuggled in foam to prevent damage.

I did end up making one of the suggested dishes on the site to pair with my sample of Rose'n'Bloom Pinot Grigio.  Spicy Lemon Basil Chicken went deliciously with the wine.

Now pull up a chair, and join me on my patio on this gorgeous summer evening for some delicious food and a glass (or two) of wine from The Wine Bar.com!  ;)

This delicious Grilled Chinese Pork Tenderloin would go great with a glass of Butterfly Kiss Pinot Grigio

Or how about Turkey Sausage  and Spinach Lasagna with a glass of  Butterfly Kiss Moscoto?

and let's finish off our meal with a slice of this summery Easy Strawberry and Cream Pie and a glass of delicious Butterfly Kiss Rose!  YUM!

When I am done with my samples, there is not doubt in my mind I will be ordering more wines from www.thewinebar.com.  I just love, love, love how easy it is to choose the right wine for the occasion on the site.  I hope you will at least take some time to check out the website whether you are a wine enthusiast or not.

I seriously wish you all could come and join me on my patio for a glass of wine and some good food and company!

  1. What a cool website! I don't drink, but my husband loves wine. That Easy Strawberry and Cream Pie looks amazing! That sounds like a pretty neat internship!

  2. What a great concept, especially if you know nothing about wine. In the summer time I love white wine - typically a chablis or pinot grigio, as I like my white wine on the tart side vs. a moscato - those are too sweet for me.

Then I switch to a shiraz in the winter time. I am so proud of myself, especially in summer time that I have given up my wine Sunday - Thursday - Friday and Saturday are my nights to enjoy a glass or two of wine, and I think my Insanity + ditching the wine will help move the scale - my 3 week WI is tomorrow - the first two weeks I lost 5 pounds!

    1. thats fantastic that you lost! You've been working so hard...I'm sure you'll see some scale movement!

  3. What a fun product review Renee! I am not much of a drinker either but do enjoy a good glass of wine once in a great while. Have a great weekend!

  4. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that doesn't know a lot about wine. I like wine also but, I tell my sister-in-law what I like and she picks something out...she's good at it too, so it enables me to be lazy on learning about it...ha! I will check out the site though, because that sounds simple enough to me. I'd fill out the survey but, I a couple years beyond 22 ;)

  5. love The Wine Bar!!! Their pinot is awesome

I love that you are here! Share what's on your mind and make my day!
