No Bake Apple Cinnamon Oreo Delight

Apple Cinnamon Oreo Delight is a great example of Fall flavors coming together in an easy, no bake dessert perfect for when the weather still feels like summer, but you want a taste of Fall. Crushed Cinnamon Bun flavored Oreos (or Golden Oreos) are turned into a cinnamon flavored crust that's layered with a creamy cheesecake filling and an apple cinnamon pudding filling, then finished with whipped topping and more crushed Oreo cookies!

The calendar says it's September. That normally means there's a nip in the evening air and Fall is beginning to make it debut here in Northeast Ohio. However, there's no sign of Fall here so far. All this week we've been having a heat wave! We've experienced temperatures well into the 90's with heat indexes into the 100's!

So what do you do when you crave Fall flavors, but it's still feeling like the dog days of summer?

You make an easy no bake dessert like Apple Cinnamon Oreo Delight dessert!

Oreo Delight aka Oreo Pudding Dessert

I was recently introduced to Oreo Delight aka Oreo Pudding Dessert at a potluck. The dish shared was a chocolate version of Oreo Delight made with chocolate pudding and traditional chocolate Oreo cookies. It was creamy and delicious and I was impressed with how easy it was to make.

What is Oreo Delight?

So what exactly is Oreo Delight? Oreo Delight is known by several names. You might hear it referred to as Oreo Pudding Dessert or Oreo Lush or just Lush. Oreo Delight is basically a package of Oreo cookies (any flavor), crushed (I used my food processor to make it super easy!) and used for a base and topping for a creamy filling.

How do you make Oreo Delight?

The creamy layers consist of a cream cheese mixture and a pudding mixture topped with whipped topping.

No baking or cooking is required with this recipe for Oreo Delight.

Crushing the Oreo cookies in a food processor takes seconds, but you can crush the cookies the old fashioned way in a bag with a heavy rolling pin too!

The addition of apple and cinnamon to a basic recipe for Oreo Delight produces a dessert with the Fall flavors everyone craves this time of year!

Apple Cinnamon Oreo Delight is just as easy to make as the original recipe for Oreo Delight. It only takes a few changes to the flavors and add ins to make this creamy dessert. The finishing touch is a little sprinkle of ground cinnamon on top of the top layer of cookies. The dessert is then refrigerated for several hours and, voila, Apple Cinnamon Oreo Delight dessert is ready to eat!

Since I've been craving Fall flavors, naturally, I wanted to make my version scream Fall and for me, apples are my favorite representation of Fall!

I was also inspired by the Cinnamon Bun Oreos I found at the store. If you can't find Cinnamon Bun Oreos, you can substitute Golden Oreos in this recipe.

With all the fun and seasonal Oreo cookie varieties out there the flavor possibilities for this Oreo dessert recipe are almost endless. But, for now, I'm calling this Apple Cinnamon version my favorite!

Apple Cinnamon Oreo Delight is an easy, no bake, desert made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, pudding, whipped topping, and apple pie filling. It's a taste of Fall without the need to turn on your oven!

Ingredients

  • 1 - 12.2 oz. package of Cinnamon Bun Oreo Cookies (or Golden Oreos)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 - 8 oz. Light cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 - 8 oz. whipped topping (Cool Whip), divided
  • 1/2 can of Apple Pie filling
  • 1 - 3.4 oz. package vanilla Instant Pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, plus extra for the top

Instructions

  1. Using food processor with blade attachment, add the entire package of cookies. Pulse until all cookies have been formed into crumbs. Some larger pieces is fine.
  2. Remove about 3/4 cup of crumbs and set aside for topping.
  3. With food processor running, add in the melted butter.
  4. Press the crumbs/butter mixture into a 9" x 9" pan. (8" square pan works too) to form a crust.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla with a hand mixer on medium speed until combined. Whip in HALF of the container of whipped topping until mixture is smooth.
  6. Spread cream cheese layer evenly over the crust.
  7. In same bowl you mixed the cream cheese in, combine the pudding mix with the milk. Whip until it starts to thicken. Fold in the apple pie filling and the ground cinnamon.
  8. Spread apple pie filling mixture on top of the cream cheese layer.
  9. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the apple pie filling mixture. Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs and then more ground cinnamon.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or more to allow layers to softly set.

Notes

This dessert will have a soft set. The pudding layer won't be totally firm, but it will be nice and soft and make for a creamy dessert. Keep any uneaten portions refrigerated.

    1. I have never heard of this before believe it or not! I'm thinking I would like the apple version better than the chocolate myself!
